Faculty

Janet Commodore (co-director/teacher) – Janet received her BA degree in Child Development and Family Living from the University of Kansas in 1979, and a MS degree in Early Childhood Educational Leadership from Bank Street College in New York City in 1992. She has worked in Boulder and the Eastern communities sharing her expertise in curriculum planning, professional development, and her vision for children, families, and teachers. Janet joyfully shares her interests and talents in the world of the arts with a personal commitment to adding beauty to all environments.

Sandy Weeks (founder) – Sandy received her BS degree in Child Development and Family Living from Northern Illinois University in 1971, and her MS degree in Early Childhood Educational Leadership from Bank Street College in New York City in1992. She worked in the mid 1970’s at National Jewish Hospital with asthmatic children. Sandy’s years in the early childhood community have been spent with a commitment to networking resources for families and to helping to bridge transitions for children and families wherever they occur. She enjoys listening to and assisting parents in their reflections as they walk this wonderful journey of parenthood. Sandy is currently an adjunct faculty member.

Jane Sprague (co-director/teacher) received an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education from Aims Community College in 1990 and a BA degree in Sociology (focus: The Family) with a minor in Parent Education in 1998.  She has worked as an early childhood educator for 19 years and also has 13 years work and experience working with Early Intervention families and providers at Imagine!.  Jane taught at Friends ‘n Fun previously and is also the parent of a Friends ‘n Fun graduate.  She enjoys working with children and families and supporting parents in their biggest, most important job ever – parenthood!


Katey Glover (team teacher) received her BA degree in Child      
Development and Family Studies from California State University at Long Beach.  She is thrilled to be part of the Friends ‘n Fun community since August 2012.  Katey moved to Colorado to be in the outdoors and is so excited to share her passion for nature with the children.

 

Kate Fisher (team teacher) grew up in a family of educators who nurtured her love for people, their stories, and her curiosity about the “why” and “how’s” of the world. She pursued her passion for Early Childhood Education and families at FRCC, gaining hands-on experience through roles with EFAA, Impact on Education, Centaurus Volleyball, Monarch K-8, and The Louisville Preschool.  Whether through teaching, art, or community projects, her goal is to build meaningful connections and create space where everyone feels valued. Now part of the FnF team, Kate is excited to share in the magic of childhood and community, and she looks forward to continuing this learning adventure with you and your family.
